The Spark of Inspiration
Every great journey begins with a spark. For me, that spark was the sight of women around me struggling, not because they lacked talent or determination, but because they lacked opportunity. Deep inside, I knew my life’s purpose was to change that reality – to help women discover their strength, their independence, and their dignity.
The First Step on the Path
My journey of social service began at Vinay Mahila Bank. Working there opened my eyes to the challenges women face in building their financial and social independence. I realized that many women have the skills but not the right platform. That was the moment when I promised myself:
Every woman should get a chance to stand tall, independent, and self-reliant.
Building Self-Reliance Through Skills
What started as a vision slowly grew into action. For the last 35 years, I have devoted myself to training women in handicrafts. With every group of women I trained, I saw lives transform. Many of them, once hesitant and dependent, began supporting their families with pride. Their confidence, their smiles, and their success became my greatest reward.
Abhilasha – A Dream That Became an Institution
To take this mission further, I founded the Abhilasha Mahila Multi-Purpose Development Foundation. This wasn’t just an organization; it was the realization of a dream – a place where women could come, learn, and grow.
Through Abhilasha, women received free training in tailoring, beauty parlour work, and other practical skills. These trainings not only gave them a livelihood but also gifted them something even greater: the power of self-respect and confidence.
My Dream for Women
My dream is simple, yet powerful –
Every woman should be able to stand on her own feet, live with dignity, and become an inspiration for her family and society.
I believe with all my heart that when a woman is empowered, she doesn’t rise alone – she lifts her family, and in turn, the entire society rises with her.
My Lifelong Commitment
This journey of service is not a project, not a career – it is my life’s mission. I have dedicated myself fully to the cause of women’s empowerment, and I will continue to do so with the same passion and determination.
